Apple is continuing the roll out of Apple Pay today with the addition of 20+ new US banks and credit unions supporting the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch-based payments service.
The total 23 new banks and credit unions include:

The expansion comes ahead of the international expansion for Apple Pay with a UK launch planned for later this month. Apple previously confirmed the UK would be the first country outside of the US to get Apple Pay, and we reported last week that the company is currently preparing for a July 14th launch date. The service is expected to go live with all major banks and card issuers in the UK with the exception of Barclays. Banks supported at launch later this month will include first direct, HSBC, NatWest, Nationwide Building Society, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander and Ulster Bank followed by Bank of Scotland, Coutts, Halifax, Lloyds Bank, MBNA, M&S Bank and TSB Bank later in the fall.

…i think i’m giving up on Ally Bank & Apple Pay…
I agree but their offerings are some of the best around. And support has been excellent for me so far. Tough call.
Well, definitely not going to completely give up on either. Just discouraged at the fact that they can’t work out their differences. Especially considering that one is a huge tech company and the other is the leading online bank…
Ally is changing their fee structures and charging for ATM’s. I don’t use them often but this tiny convenience set them apart from local branches. If they mimic normal banks in fees and structure – they really have very little benefit to the average banker.

I am surprised to not see all the banks on board at this point. It is an easy decision and fix.
I’m downright shocked at the number of banks in the U.S. Still waiting for Apple Pay in Canada here, a country where if they signed on to five banks, they’d have 95% of the population covered. Easy, right??
Yeah same here in the UK – though it is launching here over the next month or so.
…but still no Australia :(
These new additions include 4 credit unions in the top 100 so credit union coverage is excellent.
One big underreported addition was First Premier Bank which offers corporate Apple Pay credit cards, added 19 May via http://9to5mac.com/2015/05/19/latest-apple-pay-banks-may/ . According to their website they are in the top 10 for issuance of corporate credit cards. I hope this begins to put pressure on American Express, Wells Fargo, Citi, etc. to issue Apple Pay compatible corporate cards.
I think FirstPremier Bank is the first non-Credit Union to offer corporate Apple Pay Cards. The credit Unions that do such as Pen Fed are huge but have membership requirements.
