How-To: Close all Safari tabs at once in iOS 10 [Video]

It’s now possible to open an unlimited number of tabs in iOS 10’s Safari browser. With that in mind, it would be quite tedious to have to close each tab one-by-one, and fortunately Apple realizes this.

In iOS 10, users now have the option of closing all open Safari tabs in one fell swoop. To do so, simply tap and hold the tab button, and you’ll be prompted to close all open tabs at once.

Jailbreak users will certainly appreciate this new feature, as being able to close all Safari tabs at once has long been a Cydia staple. It’s just one more feature that Apple has added to native iOS that makes jailbreaking less relevant as time goes on.

Here’s a brief demonstration of me opening up a bunch of (90 to be exact) Safari tabs, and closing them with a long press of the tab button. Closing all tabs at once works the same on both the iPhone and the iPad.

As a side note, you can also close all tabs while in the tab view interface. In that case, just tap and hold the Done button, and you’ll be prompted to close all open tabs.

I realize that there have been workarounds available for closing all tabs in the past, but this is the first time that we have native, easy-to-use functionality within the Safari app; a much-needed and welcomed addition.
