According to The Moscow Times, Apple is planning to open a central center for iOS device repair in Russia after a lawsuit argued Apple does not sufficiently supports its products in the country. Dmitry Petrov raised a lawsuit last year that Apple chain stores and service companies were not equipped to deal with screen repair problems, having refused a device replacement or paying for an outside company to perform the repair.

iPhone service centers in Russia currently lack the advanced calibration equipment needed to replace iPhone display components. Although the lawsuit is yet to be settled, Apple appears to be planning a strategy to prevent further suits by setting up a centralized unit in Russia to handle all iPhone repairs. Right now, Apple deals with hardware problems by swapping out hardware with fresh, new, units. Problems arise when customers refuse replacement and instead insist on a repair, like in the case of Petrov.

Apple has not confirmed plans to setup a dedicated repair center in the country as of yet and timing is also unclear.
