Chrome for iOS now highlights AMP articles for instant page loading

Google’s official iOS app has supported AMP articles in search results since late May, and today Google is highlighting support for AMP articles in its Chrome browser for iPhone and iPad. Accelerated Mobile Pages appear in search results and load nearly instantly as these articles are optimized for faster load times.

You’ll notice that an article is a faster AMP one by the lightning bolt icon and AMP label beneath it in the Top stories section of search. For example, searching ‘iPhone 7’ on Chrome for iOS will now include AMP results including 9to5Mac and 9to5Google. AMP results have already been available on Safari for iOS so it’s interesting to see Google’s mobile browser catching up.

Accelerated Mobile Pages (“AMP”) – news and articles from many of your favorite publishers will now load instantly.

Look out for a lightning bolt and “AMP” next to articles in the “Top Stories” section of your search results and enjoy blazing fast web page loading!

Chrome for iOS is available for free on the App Store.
