Apple’s Black Friday page now live in USA: offers gift cards on older products only

Apple’s Black Friday page went live yesterday on the Australian and New Zealand websites as time-zone differences always put them at the head of the queue, and exactly the same deals have now gone live in the USA and elsewhere.

It was clear from the Australian dollar values what the U.S. deals were going to be, and our converted values have now been confirmed.

After checking them out below, you’ll want to check our roundup of the Best Apple Black Friday Deals and up-to-the-second Black Friday deals at 9to5toys.com (rss, Twitter/Facebook) as you can do much better …

Apple is offering gift cards with a selection of purchases. These range from $25 when you buy an Apple Watch or Apple TV, through to $150 on a Mac – but sadly most of the deals don’t apply to the latest models.

The iPhone deal excludes the iPhone 7, the Watch doesn’t include the Series 2 and the Mac deal excludes the 2016 MacBook Pro models. So as we noted yesterday, you’re basically being offered a reward of up to $150 on products you probably already bought or don’t want to buy.

Here’s what’s on offer:

  • $25 on Apple Watch series 1
  • $25 on Apple TV
  • $50 on iPhone SE/6s/6s Plus
  • $100 on iPad Pro (both sizes)/Air 2/mini 4
  • $150 on the older Macs shown below

The eligible Macs are:

  • 12-inch MacBook
  • 13-inch MacBook Pro (old model only)
  • 15-inch MacBook Pro (old model only)
  • MacBook Air
  • iMac
  • Mac Pro

Note too that you can’t apply the gift card value to the purchase itself, so it’s only useful if you plan other purchases from Apple.

While the new Touch Bar MacBook Pro models are in too high a demand for deals, you can find better deals on everything else on Amazon and 9to5Toys.
