Using Acronis True Image 2019 for disk cloning, automatic backups and more [Video]

Acronis True Image 2019 is the latest update for the popular all-in one personal backup software that now has over 5 million customers. With the new update, the tried and tested app gains new functionality for Mac users including features for disk cloning, full image backups, and much more that make it a robust alternative to Time Machine and other solutions.

Head below for our hands-on look.

Hands-on with Acronis True Image 2019 backup software:

Acronis True Image 2019 gives you everything you need to back up and protect all of your data via your Mac (and on Windows) and also includes new AI-based Active ransomware Protection built-in with the latest version.

As you’ll see in our hands-on with the latest update above, that includes the ability to back up off-site, on-site or using a hybrid approach. Whether you want to back up your Mac to a NAS, SSD, USB hard drive, to the cloud, or to both, Acronis gives you total control over your backups with a number of features you won’t get with Apple’s Time Machine and other free options.

Disk Cloning & Full Image Backups & Automatic USB backup

Now available for Macs starting with Acronis True Image 2019, new disk cloning & full image backup features make it easy to get all of your data from one Mac to another.

Active disk cloning for Mac, for instance, gives you the ability to migrate all of the contents from your Mac to another computer with super-speed data transfer via USB-c cable. You can alternatively use an external drive to create a bootable copy as you’ll see in our hands-on.

Also new for Acronis True Image 2019 is automatic backups for USB drives. When enabled, Acronis will automatically initiate a backup when it detects a usb drive has been connected. This makes it super easy to make sure you always have an up-to-date backup for any USB drives that you connect and add content to often from your Mac.

Parallels Desktop 14 backup – Backup reconfiguration & more

In addition to the main backup features, Acronis True Image 2019 for Mac offers a new Parallels Desktop 14 backup function. This allows you to back up virtual machines you’re using on your Mac via Parallels Desktop 14 and recover them later from Acronis Cloud. Also new is a backup reconfiguration feature for Mac that allows you to pick up where you left off and continue an in-progress backup after reinstallation or installing Acronis True Image on another Mac.

Some of the other features you’ll find in Acronis True Image 2019 include social media backup to save content from Facebook and Instagram, and blockchain certification using Acronis Notary.

Mobile Backup for iPhone & iPad

To make it Acronis True Image a complete solution for all your devices, the company also makes the Acronis True Image Mobile app for iOS. As you might expect, the free app makes it easy to get backups of content from your iPhone or iPad into the same Acronis account accessible on your Mac.

You can download and try Acronis True Image 2019 for free for 30 days. From there you’ll have the option to purchase a perpetual license (one for life) or subscription licenses.
