Apple on Monday released the second developer beta of iOS 18.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.2, both with additional Apple Intelligence features. However, the updates also bring some new features, and today’s beta lets Mac users add a Weather app widget to the macOS Menu Bar.
Adding a Weather widget to the macOS Menu Bar
For now, there’s no clear indication to help users discover the new feature. It comes disabled by default and users can add the Weather app widget to the Menu Bar by going to System Settings and then Control Center. Find the Weather option and choose to show it in the Menu Bar.
Once enabled, you can see the current temperature in the Menu Bar. When you click on it, the Mac shows a full Weather app widget that looks a lot like the old Notification Center widget from macOS versions prior to Big Sur.
The widget shows the current temperature with conditions and the forecast for the next few hours. There’s also a button to open the Weather app.
More about macOS 15.2
Just like iOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2 comes with many new features related to Apple Intelligence. These include Image Playgrounds and ChatGPT integration. Although the beta update was first available exclusively for M1 Macs and later, it now works with any Mac compatible with macOS Sequoia.
According to Apple, macOS Sequoia 15.2 will be released to the public in December.
