Apple has released the iOS 18.2 RC to developer and public beta testers today, two weeks after the release of the fourth beta. Today’s iOS 18.2 RC update will likely serve as the final beta before the update is released to the general public next week.
iOS 18.2 RC is available to developer beta testers with build number 22C150. A new public beta version is also now available. iOS 18.2 is available for all iPhones capable of running iOS 18. Apple Intelligence features, meanwhile, are limited to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models.
Most notably, iOS 18.2 includes the second round of Apple Intelligence features:
- Image Wand in the Notes app let you turn rough sketches “into delightful images” and create images using context from the rest of your note.
- Image Playground allows you to create “fun images in seconds” by typing, offering two styles: Animation and Illustration.
- Genmoji lets you generate custom emojis based on text descriptions.
- When you interact with Siri in iOS 18.2, you now have the option to access ChatGPT.
- The Writing Tools feature now offers a “Compose” button to generate text related to your chosen topics. There’s also a new “describe your change” option for Writing Tools.
- Visual intelligence utilizes the iPhone 16’s camera control to help you learn more about the things around you.
In addition to the new Apple Intelligence features, iOS 18.2 also includes changes to the iPhone 16’s Camera control, a redesign for the Mail app, new features for the Find My app, and more.
