Taylor Swift launches iTunes-exclusive The Life of a Showgirl ‘Deluxe’ edition

Taylor Swift enjoyed a highly successful first weekend for her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. What will the artist do next? It seems the answer is: revive the long-diminishing iTunes brand with a limited-edition deluxe version of The Life of a Showgirl. If anyone can spark excitement about iTunes, it’s going to be Taylor Swift.

iTunes-exclusive Taylor Swift album available for a short time

If you listen to Taylor Swift, you’ve likely already heard her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, via a streaming service like Apple Music or Spotify.

But at a time when album sales have diminished significantly, Taylor Swift’s latest move might just motivate your first iTunes purchase in years.

The Life of a Showgirl (DELUXE Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version) is now available on iTunes for just $4.99.

The album comes with some acoustic versions of a couple popular songs: The Fate of Ophelia and Eldest Daughter. Plus it includes voice memos that offer an inside glimpse at the creative process for the album.

Here’s Swift making the announcement on X:

Being in the studio and creating these songs was an unforgettable experience, but luckily I don’t ever have to forget it because I was recording while we were writing – and now it’s a way to look back on the process and give you guys a glimpse into how we wrote these songs, and hear the moments we thought of these ideas in real time.

The Life of a Showgirl (DELUXE Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version) featuring “The Life of a Showgirl” (Original Songwriting Voice Memos) Act 1 & Act 2 are available now on iTunes for 24 hours.

Based on her post, presumably after 24 hours the deluxe album will no longer be available for sale.

At just $4.99, and with the clock ticking, Taylor Swift’s fans appear highly likely to give iTunes its most successful 24 hours in a long time.
