The US was one of a number of countries to escape recent Spotify price increases, but that is now coming to an end.

The previous price rise was implemented in many countries around the world, the company citing multiple markets across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. In the UK, for example, the price of an individual premium subscription rose from £11.99 to £12.99, while a family plan went up from £19.99 to £21.99.
Spotify has now announced corresponding increases for US premium subscribers, providing sample text of an email being sent out to those affected.
Thank you for being a valued Premium subscriber. Starting on your billing date in February, your subscription price will change from $11.99/month to $12.99/month.

While customers won’t be very pleased, Bloomberg reports that investors seem happy.
Spotify shares jumped 3% in premarket trading on Thursday after the news.
