For All Mankind, one of the original Apple TV originals, makes its triumphant return in just two months. Apple TV released the first teaser for the fifth season as well as the premiere date for episode one. There’s also a first look at Joel Kinnaman’s artificially aged character Ed Baldwin, and let’s just say it’s a lot.
Release date
For All Mankind will return on Friday, March 27 for a 10-episode run. The fifth season will conclude on May 29.

Plot
While the teaser only gives us a glimpse of what to expect, Apple shares a description of the season five storyline:
Season five of “For All Mankind” picks up in the years since the Goldilocks asteroid heist. Happy Valley has grown into a thriving colony with thousands of residents and a base for new missions that will take us even further into the solar system. But with the nations of Earth now demanding law and order on the Red Planet, friction continues to build between the people who live on Mars and their former home.
While he’s only heard and not seen in the teaser, here’s how the continually aged-up astronaut Ed Baldwin appears in season five.

Each new season includes some cast regulars and some new faces, which will continue with season five:
The ensemble cast returning for season five includes Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt, alongside new series regulars Mireille Enos (“The Killing,” “Hanna”), Costa Ronin (“The Americans,” “Homeland”), Sean Kaufman (“The Summer I Turned Pretty”), Ruby Cruz (“Bottoms”) and Ines Asserson (“Royalteen”).
While this artificial aging stuff always irks me, the teaser trailer had me at motorcycles on Mars.
This April will mark two years since Apple confirmed For All Mankind would return for a fifth run alongside spin-off series Star City following season five.
The first four seasons of For All Mankind are streaming now on Apple TV.
