Apple rolls out watchOS 11.6.2 with cellular network bug fixes

Apple is rolling out a system update for Apple Watches that haven’t upgraded to watchOS 26, but may be experiencing a very specific connectivity issue. Here are the details.

According to Apple, watchOS 11.6.2 fixes a problem affecting multiple Apple Watch models, including Series 6, Series 7, Series 8, Series 9, Series 10, SE 2, Ultra, and Ultra 2, when attempting to establish a connection to emergency services in Australia.

Today’s update comes almost six months after the release of watchOS 11.6.1.

The company also says that the new release contains “important bug fixes and is recommended for all users,” but it is not immediately clear whether the bug fixes go beyond the Australian emergency services connectivity issues.

Be it as it may, if Apple thought these fixes were important enough to warrant a dedicated release for people still on older versions of watchOS, it’s probably a good idea to install it sooner rather than later.
