Tim Cook attends Sun Valley Conference alongside Eddy Cue [U: Ternus attends]

Tim Cook and Eddy Cue have arrived in Idaho for the 2026 Sun Valley Conference, which is expected to run through July 11. Here are the details.

Cook and Cue attend Sun Valley

Every year, the Sun Valley Conference brings together some of the world’s most influential figures in media, technology, and finance for several days of private meetings and all-around face time.

This year’s edition starts today, and several CEOs and high-level executives have started to arrive at the Sun Valley Lodge Spa. That includes YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, OpenAI chairman Bret Taylor, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang, GM CEO Mary Barra, CEO and president of Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav, and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, among others.

Also present are Apple CEO Tim Cook, as well as the company’s SVP of Services and Health Eddy Cue. John Ternus was widely expected to participate given the company’s upcoming change of leadership, but has yet to be spotted.

Update, 9:47 p.m. ET: John Ternus is also in attendance, and was greeted by Tim Cook as he arrived at the Sun Valley Lodge Spa.

Last year, upon arriving at Sun Valley, Cue waved a stack of papers as he greeted the press, offering an inadvertent glimpse of a very tight schedule for the event.

Interestingly, one mogul who made an entrance this year was Barry Diller, the 84-year-old chairman of IAC. Unlike many of his fellow attendees, who arrived in large SUVs, Diller rolled in what appeared to be a blue Trek Verve+ 3 electric bike. It was not a first for Diller, who has also been spotted cycling to and around the conference in previous years.

Do you think Ternus will still turn up? Let us know in the comments.
