As TV Time prepares to shut down, JustWatch launches migration tool

TV Time users looking for a new movie and show-tracking app can now migrate their data to JustWatch ahead of next week’s shutdown. Here are the details.

How to migrate from TV Time to JustWatch

A few days ago, popular TV-tracking app TV Time announced that it would shut down on July 15, after 15 years of helping TV and movie fans track their favorite shows and films.

From TV Time’s announcement:

TV Time is Coming to an End

After many incredible years, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue TV Time. The service will end after July 15, 2026.

While we loved supporting TV Time, it was no longer sustainable to continue operating the service as a free app and there was not enough demand for a paid app.

Thank you for being part of this amazing community.

Happy watching, forever

The news caught many users by surprise, quickly kicking off a search for replacement apps, similar to what happened when App in the Air announced its own shutdown.

And much like Flighty moved quickly to win over App in the Air users with a dedicated migration tool, JustWatch has launched a similar option to help TV Time users migrate their data.

Here’s how to migrate your TV Time data, according to a JustWatch support article:

Step 1: Request your TV Time export

Before anything else, download your data from TV Time while it’s still available (until July 15th). You can request the export here: https://gdpr.tvtime.com/gdpr/self-service

Step 2: Upload it to the JustWatch importer

Head to https://www.justwatch.com/us/tvtime-importer and upload the file as is.

Step 3: Sign up or log in to JustWatch to sync

Sign up or log in to JustWatch to sync the data into your account. JustWatch matches your TV Time shows and movies to its catalog and pulls everything in automatically.

It is worth stressing that TV Time data will only be available through July 15, 2026, so users looking to migrate without losing their movie and show history should request their data sooner rather than later.
