Apple today updated its official list of digital camera RAW formats supported across its platforms, adding support for 11 models from several manufacturers. Here are the details.
Apple now supports RAW files from 562 cameras
Apple’s operating systems offer system-level support for RAW images captured by many third-party cameras.
In a nutshell, this lets compatible apps work directly with those cameras’ RAW files, allowing them to better adjust elements such as exposure, color, and so on.
That is in contrast with formats such as JPEG, which don’t allow for the same post-processing editing flexibility, since much of that image processing is basically baked into the final image.
Apple maintains support articles listing digital cameras with RAW formats supported by its current (and past) operating systems. The list was updated today, adding 11 digital cameras, bringing the total to 562 models.

- Phase One iXG 100MP
- Phase One iXH 150MP
