Apple has announced that visionOS 26 will be available to Vision Pro users from Monday, September 15.
The latest version of the operating system will offer a raft of new features, with spatial widgets and far more realistic personas topping the list …
Spatial widgets allow you to position things like clock, weather, music player, and photos in a fixed space in your environment, including the ability to embed them into walls. There’s also a brand new widgets app to find additional spatial widgets.
Personas have been greatly improved, offering a far more realistic image, including a full side profile view.
Other new features are:
- Spatial scenes powered by AI where users can lean in and look around, which upgrades the current experience for spatial photos and more
- New support for for 180-degree, 360-degree, and wide field-of-view content from Insta360, GoPro, and Canon
- Safari adds spatial browsing to “transform articles…hide distractions, and reveal spatial scenes that come alive as they scroll“
- PlayStation VR2 Sense controller is now supported by visionOS
- Jupiter immersive environment
- Logitech Muse is a new spatial accessory built for Apple Vision Pro
- Folders are available in the Home View
- Support for unlocking your iPhone while wearing Vision Pro
- Look to Scroll for hands-free content navigation
- Redesigned Control Center
- Answer iPhone phone calls inside visionOS
