Apple rolls out macOS Sonoma 14.8.6 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.6 Release Candidates

Less than a week after releasing macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.5, Apple has now seeded release candidates for their next updates. Here are the details.

Release Candidates rolling out now

Earlier today, Apple released the first developer betas of macOS 26.5, iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, and so on.

Alongside these betas, Apple also released:

  • macOS Sonoma 14.8.6 (Build 23J507)
  • macOS Sequoia 15.7.6 (Build 24G707)

Given that there were no prior beta releases before today’s RC rollout, it is likely that these builds will be released to the general public sooner rather than later.

macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.5, released last week, fixed 60 distinct vulnerabilities across both systems, including at least one that could allow an app to gain root privileges.

Apple has yet to publish the release notes for the macOS Sonoma 14.8.6 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.6 Release Candidates, but we will keep an eye out for them and update this post once they’re available.
