Spotify launches guided workout experiences for Free and Premium users

Starting today, Spotify users will have access to guided workouts for activities such as yoga, running, dancing, and high-intensity interval training, in addition to Peloton content in certain markets. Here are the details.

Spotify now offers guided workouts

Spotify announced today that Free and Premium subscribers will get access to a new fitness feature, which will offer playlists and curated content from wellness creators, including:

Additionally, Spotify is announcing a partnership with Peloton that will give Premium subscribers access to more than 1,400 ad-free, on-demand workouts.

The catalog includes equipment-free classes across activities like outdoor runs, strength training, cardio, yoga, and meditation, and Spotify says that it will expand over time.

According to Spotify, nearly 70% of Premium subscribers also work out monthly, and already use the more than 150 million fitness-themed playlists on the service.

And speaking of playlists, Spotify says that fitness and workouts rank among the top use cases for the new Prompted Playlist feature, which uses AI to create playlists from user prompts.

Here’s Roman Wasenmüller, Spotify’s Vice-President and Global Head of Podcasts, on today’s announcement:

“For nearly two decades, Spotify has been the soundtrack to the world’s workouts (…) Today, we are expanding Spotify to become a true daily wellness companion. By bringing thousands of creators and partners like Peloton directly into our video and audio ecosystem, we are investing in a future where Spotify isn’t just where you spend your time—it’s where you go to build momentum, improve your wellbeing, and get more out of every day.”

To access the new Fitness hub, Free and Premium subscribers can simply search for “fitness” in the Search tab.
