Photos of iPhone 18 Pro drop tests and other sensitive info hits the dark web

Last week, it transpired that Apple supplier Tata Electronics had been the subject of a data breach, with hundreds of gigabytes of files leaking online.

While the files include a lot of company-sensitive data, Reuters is reporting that Apple is particularly concerned right now as the documents include drop test photos of the iPhone 18 Pro, the upcoming model Apple will officially announce in early September.

The leak also apparently includes a detailed list of iPhone 18 Pro components and their suppliers, including information about chips used on the logic board, camera and battery.

To be clear, 9to5Mac has not seen the leaked information first-hand.

While photos of the iPhone 18 Pro are juicy leaks nonetheless, remember that the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to look almost identical to the iPhone 17 Pro, apart from featuring a new lineup of colorways. As pictured above in our mockup, the 18 Pro and Pro Max will come in a new cherry, blue, silver and black lineup of color options.

Reuters says the newly-leaked photos “depict a conventional slab-shaped, grey handset with a three-rear-camera setup and the Apple logo” undergoing quality assurance drop tests.

AppleInsider has reported the leaks also include schematics for the upcoming A20 system-on-a-chip and the C2 modem.
