iOS 27 introduced Dual Capture support for FaceTime, letting you show your front and rear camera views at the same time. And in iOS 27.2, that upgrade is expanding to now support Group FaceTime calls.
Group FaceTime calls support Dual Capture in iOS 27.2 on compatible iPhones
FaceTime is a popular iPhone feature that, at its core, hasn’t changed much since first coming on the scene many years ago.
But iOS 27 introduced the first substantial upgrade in a while: Dual Capture support.
With Dual Capture, you can have your front and rear camera views active at the same time during your FaceTime call. Just hit the ‘Flip’ button on the viewfinder and whoever you’re talking to will see both of your camera views simultaneously.
Note: Dual Capture requires an iPhone 17 or later, and participants in the call need to be running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 to see the dual camera streams.
iOS 27.2 is currently in beta, but it comes with a great upgrade for Dual Capture: Group FaceTime calls are now supported too.
In iOS 27.0, you can only use the feature in one-on-one calls. But if you join the iOS 27.2 beta, or just wait a few weeks for the public launch, you’ll get Dual Capture for all of your Group FaceTime calls as well.
