Have you ever been frustrated to learn that an Apple Maps business listing has outdated info? Maybe the listed hours are inaccurate, or it has an error in the address, phone number, and so on.

Square’s new integration with Apple Business should help. From the announcement:

Square today announced a new integration with Apple that enables Square sellers to connect their locations to Apple Business from their Square Dashboard, so they can seamlessly manage and synchronize key business location information that appears on Apple Maps. Rather than managing multiple channels separately, sellers can now maintain their Apple presence alongside the rest of their business in Square. The integration makes it easier for sellers to ensure Apple users see up-to-date and accurate information across Apple Maps, Siri AI, Apple Wallet and other Apple apps.

Per Square, this integration provides several key benefits to business owners. It lets them:

  • Manage their brand and add a logo across connected locations, allowing them to enhance and extend their brand presence to Apple Maps place cards, directly from Square Dashboard.
  • Automatically sync key business details for each connected location, such as hours, address, and phone number, so this information stays up-to-date and accurate across Apple Maps, Siri AI, Apple Wallet, and other Apple apps and services without manual updates.
  • Turn discovery into engagement across connected locations with action links such as Menu, Order, Pickup, Delivery, Book, or Schedule Appointment, so customers can take action directly from an Apple Maps place card.

The partnership sounds like a clear win for businesses, since so many already rely on Square. But it should result in a better Apple Maps experience for users over time too.
