A pair of calendar services have received updates this afternoon. First is Magneto Calendar, a popular app that has been available for the iPhone for a while now. The company today announced that its app is now available for the iPad, as well. The new app is built with the larger iPad display in mind and includes several unique features.
First off, the iPad app includes a five-day view that shows you the tasks you have to do. There’s a larger seven-day view, as well. The entire interface is optimized for the iPad with views for to-do lists, your daily map, and many other things. You also, of course, get all the features that have been available in the Magneto Calendar app for the iPhone, as well.
- 5-day view with to-dos, letting you drag and drop to-dos into your schedule
- 7-day view so you can see more of what’s coming up
- Optimized views for to-dos, your daily map, alerts, and other features
- Plus full support for all the features you love on the Magneto iPhone App.
Magneto Calendar also this afternoon announced times for Public Transit services. Using the app, you can now select the Public Transit option and Magneto will select the quickest route to use to get to your event on time. Finally, Magneto also announced that it is available in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. You can download Magneto for iOS from the App Store now.
Sunrise, another popular iOS calendar app/platform also announced a major update today. This update, available on the App Store now, adds third-party app integration to the app. With the update, Sunrise now connects Songkick, Evernote, Tripit, Github and Asana directly into the app. Songkick integration, for instance, allows you to easily add the tour dates of your favorites bands and artists to your calendar. Evernote support allows you to sync your reminders with your calendar, in addition to editing them in Sunrise.
Tripit support allows you to synchronize all your travel plans into Sunrise. Finally, Github and Asana integration allows you to track your tasks and milestones from within your calendar. Just like with Evernote, the apps sync both ways, meaning that any changes you make in Github and Asana will appear in both apps.
