The popular Fleksy keyboard for Android will be making its way to iOS 8 this fall, according to the company behind the software. While the keyboard isn’t quite ready for a public beta, the developers say it will be ready by the release of the next-generation mobile OS.
Keeping in line with today’s update for the Android version, the iPhone version is on schedule to ship with support with over 40 languages.
The Fleksy keyboard has been available on iOS in the form of a standalone app for some time now, but with iOS 8’s support for third-party keyboards, it will finally be available systemwide. The native keyboard has already been demoed by the Fleksy developers earlier this year.

Hands down best Keyboard ever
I’ve actually used Fleksy. Massively overrated – I just don’t see the appeal whatsoever. There will be no shortage of great keyboard alternatives coming to iOS8. It might even spur further research and development now that it’s possible to distribute a solution everyone can use. Excited to see what the next big thing will be.
Please, please, please – with Apple moving to 4.7″ and 5.5″ iPhones – someone offer a keyboard with a number row so you don’t have to switch layouts just to enter numbers – it would be password HEAVEN, not to mention just general typing nirvana…

Seriously? Add a number row to the keyboard to take up more space just to slightly speed up manual password entering when you have to reauthenticate Touch ID or it fails? No
That will be nice. I’m sure there will be dozens of different keyboards to choose from come iOS 8 release.
I installed exKey on my jailbroken iPhone 5S to enable that feature you mentioned about a keyboard with a number row and it is extremely useful! I don’t really miss my Note 2 anymore (it had that feature built in). So I wouldn’t be surprised if a keyboard came out with that feature thanks to iOS 8.
It will be nice to see what new innovations are out there. I am pretty happy with the Apple keyboard which is rather refined at this point but these aftermarket guys can bring new and interesting ideas to the table. I have tried FK and others and they have nice ideas but I can’t say that on the whole they are better. I am concerned with everyone trying to promote their own keyboard, or with keyboards lifting and transmitting everything I type for illegal purposes. Hopefully that will be impossible with ios8.
If you are concerned with security, go with Swype, it is owned by Nuance, which is same company that powers Siri’s voice recognition. Personally, I can’t wait until Swype is available on iOS given how unfriendly I find the stock keyboard (I had used Swype on an Android phone previously).
Well, this black keyboard looks prettier than the white keyboard. I still want better defined buttons, (hint: lines and gradients.), Oh and textures.
If Apple won’t give me these things, then I want the power to alter the User Interface myself, so to give myself these things. Options make for a more happy costumer, lack of options make for a costumer who will shop elsewhere.
Options make for retarded changes to the UI (see: every jailbreak theme ever created). Apple won’t, and shouldn’t ever allow many customizations, and no, no one is shopping elsewhere because most people don’t want to change anything or they will jailbreak their phone to absolutely abysmally slaughter it with whatever garbage they do to change it.

What impressed me about Flesky was the invisible keyboard. Surprised myself how accurately (read: flawless) I could type without seeing a single key.
