In addition to officially announcing its special event to be held on September 9th where two new iPhones and the long rumored wearable device is expected to debut, Apple has begun to build some sort of structure at the Flint Center for Performing Arts in Cupertino, California, as noted in our previous post. Additional images of the venue and mysterious structure have been shared by The Loop which reveal more sides to the structure as you can see above…
The Loop notes that security around the structure is “very tight” as you might expect, and the size suggests it will serve as a hands-on area for allowing event attendees to demo the new products and services to be announced at the event.
The Loop also mentions the last time Apple held an event at the Flint Center: 1998.
As readers probably know, Apple is expected to announced two new, larger display iPhones, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch, as well as its entry into the wearable market with the product so far referred to (though not by Apple) as iWatch.
As for the building being constructed at the venue by Apple, The Loop shares a few additional angles that show its scale and the ongoing construction around it as you can see below.

Faux house to demo the HomeKit stuff?
That would be interesting. And it would be very realistic since most houses are made of vinyl.
That was my first thought as well!
Man would that be cool.
The watch is coming and the new building will be an indoor Obstacle course to show of the new sensors.
Can’t wait to see the Apple press compete in physical events!
It will be used for the cult’s mass wedding.
“Wish we could tell you more” = “speak now or forever hold your peace.”
I wish you could tell us no more.
Best thought you’ve ever posted. Your mom is “learnin’ you” well. Tell her I said hi.
What, no drone video?
As some commented over on the Loop:
Yerba Buena: 750 seats
Moscone West: 1,500 seats
Flint Center: 2,300 seats (and they’re building more space?)
It all points to something big.
The outdoor space isn’t for the presentation, which will be streamed and can be viewed from anywhere.
It will be for a mass wedding.
Genuinely intriguing. I figure there will be some surprises come September 9th. Can’t wait to see what they have in store.

I can’t wait.
I bet it will light up or have protectors displaying Apple stuff on the outside.
It could be a faux shop in which to demonstrate how Apple’s rumoured NFC/Bluetooth payment system works. Imagine displays loaded with iBeacons and quickpay POS stations.
OMG! They are finally going to release the new AppleTV, and it will have a screen so big it will require a building several stories tall to actually fit it.
I envision a 367 inch 8K screen! It’ll be awesome!
(Note: Unless it isn’t clear the above is hyperbole.)
I honestly think that it will be a combination of all of the above. To demo healthkit and homekit will both take a decent amount of space.
