As Apple rolls out support for new banks and retailers and app developers offer the payment option to customers, Apple announced last month that Apple Pay now supports 90% of US credit cards by transaction volume while continuing to roll out support for additional cards types from bank partners.

We have a running list of banks that plan to support Apple Pay in the coming weeks and months here. We also have a running list of the latest stores and apps that accept Apple Pay here.
FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.
It should be noted that not all cards of a particular bank are accepted. I have a Sears Citi card that still doesn’t work.
It’s sad when you fail to update your information before posting a story. Like just for Visa the bank list is above 600 banks. It was past 550 by early December. Your running list is missing quite a few.
Still waiting for more announcements about new retailers supporting ApplePay. Both of my credit cards are already supported (and have been from day one), but without increased retailer support, it’s really not hugely useful. It’s great when I’m in Walgreens or Home Depot or (some) Chevron stations, but until Apple and the banks get more retailers to adopt it, it’s at best a novelty….
It’s not about adapting Apple Pay, it’s about adopting NFC payments for retailers. Many who don’t say Apple Pay but take NFC still work just fine..
Meijer, Mcdonalds, Panara, Shell, Walgreens are all places I shop frequently.. so far from a novelty to me.
Loving it so far..
I’m aware is that all that is required is NFC–Chevron and HomeDepot aren’t in the official list either. my biggest gripe is that the only major supermarket chain that supports NFC in the San Francisco Bay Area is WholePaycheck. More generally though, I don’t see Apple succeeding with this unless they start convincing more retailers to move forward with rolling out NFC support. As far as I know, they haven’t ann any new ones since the initial ApplePay announcement. It’s way too spotty to be truly useful at this point.
You’d be surprised at the places that accept it even the employees don’t even know it. Goodwill for example was a surprise to me, used it there once then the second time in the same store they swore they didn’t accept it and called up the manager and I showed them how it worked.
I recently saw that Chevron was moving to it. I have a chevron Texeco card now. Does Apple Pay work at the pump or do you have to enter the store?
TD Bank NA was added two weeks. I have used my card 6 times already via Apple Pay
Ok, it should be noted that Consumers Credit Union service reps are denying that Apple Pay is ready yet.
Tried adding my cards, it lets me, but when I call to verify the cards, the customer service reps are confused. lol
