Many Apple Watch shipping times improve slightly from July to June

Apple has slightly improved shipping times for some Apple Watch models with almost all 42mm versions of its mid-range stainless steel Apple Watch now shipping as early as June, up from a previous shipping estimate of July.

That means customers ordering today could get their Apple Watch a couple weeks sooner if they ship on the earlier end of the new “5-7 week” shipping estimate. Those that already ordered their device are also starting to see shipping estimates for their order change from July to a new date in the 5-7 week timeframe.

Almost all of the 42mm models of the Apple Watch have improved to 5-7 weeks, apart from the black stainless steel model that changed to 6-7 weeks vs the old July shipping estimate.

Some of Apple’s Sport models, such as the white and space gray models, have also changed from July to 6-7 weeks, potentially getting the device into customers’ hands a week or so earlier than the previous shipping estimates of “July”.

Earlier today vice-chairman of Apple supplier Quanta reportedly acknowledged limited shipments of Apple Watch and said manufacturing capacity is now fully up to speed. With today being the first time we’ve seen shipping times for these most popular models of the device improve, it’s likely we’ll see shipping times drop even more in the near future.

Yesterday, the Space Black stainless steel models, one of the last models to start shipping to customers, started arriving for those that preordered on day one. Our hands-on with the device is here.

Sad..I ordered day one, heck, within the first few minutes, and my 42mm space black ss is still stuck at Processing items: Available to ship: June

  2. Verena Block - 10 years ago

My Sport was supposed to arrive end of June, it was delivered 5/13.

  3. guacho8 - 10 years ago

yeap…I was gonna email you guys about this, just got the email saying it will be delivered in 5-7 weeks, I ordered a week ago and had a July as a date.

  4. guacho8 - 10 years ago

mine is the 42mm black sport model, not the stainless steel though, lucky me I guess

  5. Larry Griffin - 10 years ago

my order from may 2nd for my apple watch sport got pushed up from July to June 22-29… so heres hoping

  6. Jeff Borden (@JayBe) - 10 years ago

Ordered 42 SB S Black Band on 13 April and had a “June” delivery. Today it changed to “Ship 5-6 Weeks. June 25 to July 2”. NOT an improvement in the least! Misery!

    • ryanvaldezzz - 10 years ago

I also got a space grey 42mm sports band Apple watch on the evening of april12th. It is ALSO not improvement to me either as I also got the June 22-29 estimate.congradulations for the people that got those watches in May and still got the same shipping estimate as people that got theirs in the first couple days. It’s so disorganized for Apple to have a silly launch for a product they know everybody’s going to buy. Please keep me updated if your watch comes early!

    I ordered SG Sport on April 10 . . . shipping says June 5 – 18 to Canada

  8. Manny Ahuja - 10 years ago

42 mm space grey/black and 42 mm milanese, ordered 4/24. Changed from “available to ship in June” to “5-6 weeks”. Expected delivery is 6/22-6/29. Really hoping it arrives sooner :(

    • vandy75 - 10 years ago

The 42mm space grey with the Milanese loop looks sensational!!! The band came before the watch but when it did and I put the together WOW! Keep the black band for the gym…the readings are better

42mm SG with Black band on April 10 at 3:12am EST. Still waiting, said 4 to 6 weeks then changed to May 29 to Jun 11th.

  10. Gazoo Bee - 10 years ago

Well, I finally got mine but I must say I’m underwhelmed at best. Not what I thought it would be like at all. Not sure if I’ll keep it considering the cost.

    • T.bias - 10 years ago

I haven’t gotten mine yet, but my father (who ordered his 42mm SG Watch Sport the same exact time I did) got his on April 24th. I got to use it for about a day to check it out and we both agree that it is “pretty nice”, but should be in the ~$250 range.

It feels more like an accessory to a device [iPhone] than a device itself, if that makes sense.

    Not my aluminium…

  12. Ordered two on Apr 10 between 3:15AM EST and 3:30AM EST. Pink sport arrived May 2nd, estimate was May 13 – May 27. Black sport estimate still says May 29 – Jun 11.

  13. Георги Балев - 10 years ago

i think we will see apple watch 2,before having the chance to get 24 hours shipping on the first edition…

  14. Cais - 10 years ago

I’d actually say my delivery date worsened … I pre-ordered April 11 with “Available to ship: June” date (42mm Apple Watch w/Milanese loop) which has been updated to “Available to ship: 5-6 weeks” making the original ship date better unless Apple delivers on the early side of their new timeline.

    • Cais - 9 years ago

Update: My Apple Watch just arrived a short while ago … roughly seven weeks after pre-ordering.

  15. ldroberts626 - 10 years ago

My 42mm Stainless steel with link bracelet got delivered yesterday, just over 24 hours after it got changed to Preparing for shipping (4-6 week time frame). Not bad I for Apple ‘standard delivery’ i was expecting it early next week. With regards to watch experience, im not underwhelmed as such, but i find myself having to remind myself what its actual features are, definitely need to train myself into a habit of using it for the money it cost.

    • Cais - 10 years ago

I hope I have the same experience as my status just changed to “Preparing for Shipment” sometime overnight (but it still says: “Available to ship: 5-6 weeks”) … and my CC has a pending charge for the Apple Watch as well.

Ordered my 42mm SG Sport 10 min after preorders started and still haven’t received mine… I’m really getting frustrated with Apple on this. My projected delivery is set for May13-27 and I was really hoping the 13th would be the day I got it but no luck. I’m leaving for vacation on the 25th so I’m really hoping I get it this week or I’ll be really upset. Many people ordered after me and got their watches way before me.

    • damari35 - 10 years ago

Others getting their watches before people who pre-ordered seems to be the trend and is absolutely TRUE!! Apple has denied it the two times I called to complain – stating that they are fulfilling in the order in which they were received which is a blatant LIE. I am a devoted Apple Fanboy and ALL of my previous pre-orders have been ON-TIME and/or early and this rollout is simply an #epicfail on Apple’s part. I wouldn’t be surprised if their new retail head Angela is the next Exec on the chopping block after this whole debacle. #getittogetherAngela!!

  17. I ordered a 38mm Stainless Apple Watch with a white sport band on 11 May. It arrived on 13 May. I cannot complain, and the watch is very nice!

  18. kpom1 - 10 years ago

Most new orders of the 38mm models, including the black modern buckle, are shipping in 2-3 weeks.

  19. TR (@timmoetea) - 10 years ago

Just got a preparing to ship notice for the Apple Watch Sport 42mm Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black Sport Band. I ordered around 3:10AM on pre-order day and got in the second wave: Available to ship: 4-6 weeks. Delivers: 13 May, 2015 – 27 May, 2015.

    • cheekysarah - 10 years ago

I got update on sports grey 42mm canceled the one on 25/04/15 would not get cover it would have been to late for July – so orderd a nother one on 17/05/15 with cover and still got June 25/06/15 -9/7/15 so not bad glad am getting it now :)

    • T.bias - 10 years ago

I just got my “preparing to ship” status change at 12:08am this “morning”, just after my card was charged. But, unlike many before me, it has yet, now almost 12 hours later, to be shipped.

    • TR (@timmoetea) - 10 years ago

It just shipped. Should be here tomorrow.

  20. Ernest Ntangu (@entangu) - 10 years ago

still waiting for my 42mm black sports band.
ordered on april 10th 3 min into the ordering time.
status says may 29th to june 13th.

  21. Rand Whipple - 10 years ago

I was online at 11:55 pm April 9 and was finally able to order 8 minutes after they were available. My order still says May 29-June 11. This is the only time I have ever been really mad at Apple in the 25 years I have used and loved their products.

  22. jendow - 10 years ago

My 42mm Sport took just over 3 weeks to arrive. Shipping status updates on a Sunday, so they must be working around the clock to fill orders. It shipped via UPS Next Day Air.

  23. Ordered 42 mm Sport Aliminum white band 4/27 , first notice June , then June 21-29 , then processing shipped 5/18, 22 days from ordering.

  24. damari35 - 10 years ago

    Updating my earlier post…
Pre-ordered 42 SS Watch with SS Link Bracelet on 4/10. Several of my friends and my boss also purchased the SAME EXACT model later than me, yet received theirs earlier than me.
I called Apple to complain (twice) and got the same answer each time – that they are fulfilling in the order received (which clearly is not the case).
However, this past weekend (almost immediately after my 2nd call to them), the shipping status was updated for a white sport band that I had also ordered (WIN #1). At the time, may watch status was still showing 5/17 – 5/29 delivery date.
Well… Much to my surprise, I got an Aple Store notification after I got home from work yesterday that me watch shipped too!! Both were delivered 1st thing this morning!! HUGE WIN (#2) – for both myself AND for Apple for still coming through during the earlier part of the window disclosed to me originally when I pre-ordered.
I know how much it sucks to wait (& to feel burned), but trust me… It’s worth the wait… And possibly a call to Apple to “inquire”…

  25. ferfmuckmeyer - 10 years ago

Apple Watch Sport black band ordered on 5/15. Up until today, it said July. Earlier today it jumped to 4-6 weeks. Now it’s telling me 3-5 weeks. I bet I’ll see it in a couple of weeks.

  26. Mine has now changed to 4-6 business days!
