What do you think of this concept design for Apple’s rumored over-ear headphones?

KGI suggested recently that Apple is planning to release ‘high-end’ over-ear headphones at some point, with late fall the earliest date at which they might be seen.

I observed at the time that my HomePod experience has made me feel somewhat optimistic about the audio quality we might expect from them. Styling-wise, my guess was that they’d be simple and white. One site has now put together concept images of what the headphones might look like …

The Apple Post has a similar vision.

We envisioned that Apple would take a simple yet stylish approach when designing their ‘high-end over-ear’ headphones, bringing across the familiar glossy outer finish and chrome outlines found on the iPhone X.

Our concept is completed with premium tanned leather wrapping around the two audio chambers of the headphones to cushion the ears of the listener creating a truly luxurious listening experience.

The renders do borrow quite heavily from the design of Beats Studio Wireless headphones, but take a more minimalist approach.

One slightly odd thing about the renders is that they look like a slightly odd cross between on-ear and over-ear headphones, but leaving that aside, what do you think of the design?
