iPhone: How to customize system vibrations and haptic feedback

Whether you like to switch up how your iPhone gives alerts and feedback regularly or prefer to set it and forget it, follow along for three ways to customize system vibrations and haptic feedback.

Finding where to adjust vibration settings for things like calls and texts on iPhone is straightforward. But did you know there are more places to customize how your iPhone uses the vibration motor and provides haptic feedback? Although it’s a bit buried, there’s even a master switch for vibration.

iPhone: How to customize system vibrations and haptic feedback

  1. Open Settings and tap on Sounds & Haptics
  2. You can turn vibrate on/off for both when iPhone is set to ring or silent
  3. Swipe to the bottom of this page if you’d like to turn off System Haptics (vibration feedback) for system controls
  4. Head back the main Settings page, then General
  5. Tap Accessibility, then swipe down to Vibration for the option to turn off all vibrations
