Threads now rolling out Custom Feeds in its mobile app globally

Earlier this year, Threads began experimenting with Custom Feeds as a way to let users better personalize their experience on the platform by seeing only specific content they want. A few months later, Meta is finally rolling out Custom Feeds globally to all users of the Threads app.

Threads app now has Custom Feeds

As confirmed by Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, the option to create Custom Feeds in the Threads app is now available to everyone around the world. The feature works in much the same way as the option to create columns based on search results on the desktop. However, on the mobile app, users need to pull down on the Threads homepage to see all their feeds.

To create a new feed, all you need to do is search for a topic in the Threads app and tap the three-dot menu. Threads will then show you the options of creating a new feed based on that search result or adding that keyword to an existing feed.

Also with the update, Threads is making it easier for users to choose between seeing search results based on suggested posts, most recent posts, or user profiles.

More recently, Meta announced that it will start showing ads to users on Threads next year. The move is a result of the platform’s significant growth since it was launched – Threads now has over 200 million monthly active users.

The Threads app is available for free on the App Store and requires an iPhone running iOS 15.1 or later. Make sure you update the app to the latest version in order to get access to the new features.
