Like Tinder, but for deleting photos.

Over thanksgiving I was giving my usual tech support sessions to my family when I realized that nobody imports their photos to iPhoto. So I knew there had to be a better way to delete old photos from your phone.  With the release of iOS 8, Apple allowed developers to build applications that can access and delete photos from a device.  An app called Screeny launched, but it only finds your old screenshots.  Meet SwipeDelete. It brings Tinder-style swiping to deleting your photos. Swipe Left to delete, and Right to keep. The iOS app is set to launch on Saturday and will be $0.99.

Here is a link to a preview: http://psproapps.com/portfolio/swipedelete/

When the app goes live I will post a few promo codes. Let me know what you think!

This looks like a really useful app. I’d like to find out, is there a recycle bin within the app in case we get to swipe-happy? Also, does the app use the IOS recycle bin, or does it permanently delete photos? I’m excited to find out, promo codes will be much-appreciated!

If you get a little overzealous with the swiping and accidentally delete a photo, you simply tap “Keep” and it will not delete the photos. You can also do this once you’ve clicked delete. When you tap “Delete”, a prompt pops up asking for permission to delete the photo. You can click “Don’t Allow” which will cancel the operation, or you can click “Delete” and it will move the photos to your recently deleted album. Unfortunately we cannot simplify the app to bypass the recently deleted album and delete the pictures altogether. But hopefully Apple allows this in the future. Keep checking this space as I have a promo code earmarked for you!

I just submitted a new binary with new graphics and icons. I also just submitted the binary for the Free Ad & iAP supported version. That should go live in 9-10 days (with current approval times).
