The editing of a 64 layer project w/ new Mac Pro & Final Cut

This was just sent in from happy new Mac Pro owner Svein Sund. I’m thinking it would make for a nice case study for Mac Pro and Final Cut on Apple’s website:

Hi, just want to tell about a crazy project I’ve recently finished. I’m the editor of the opening ceremony of the Chess Olympiad, which is currently hold in Tromsø (tromsoe), Norway at this moment.

The film includes several 8×8 grid of people, all filmed in minimum of 1080p. We tried different software but nothing could compare to Final Cut Pro X combined with the new Mac Pro. And oh my god what a combination. It eats it like butter. Some have concluded with it has to be one of the biggest timelines ever. Just want to show you a short behind the scene clip of it.
