Apple's new iOS App Development Centers offer free courses on developing apps for iPhone and iPad

Apple’s ‘iOS Developer Academy’ begins in Oct. at Università di Napoli Federico II

Apple’s new European iOS App Development Center, announced back in January, is about to officially launch as the Università di Napoli Federico II in Italy today confirms it has partnered with Apple on the initiative (via Macerkopf). 

When Apple first announced its plans for the new development center, the first of its kind to offer training for app developers in Europe, it didn’t say which school it would be partnering with to push the specialized curriculum. Today it confirmed the Università di Napoli Federico II will play host to the “iOS Developer Academy” with a dedicated facility that will offer Apple’s specialized app development training to a couple hundred students.

The program will begin in October and last nine months.

Malaysian Prime Minister meets w/ Apple to discuss opening R&D & app development centers

In a blog post, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak detailed that he has recently met with Apple executives Jeff Williams and Lisa Jackson at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino. In addition to Apple, Razak also met with Tesla. The Prime Minister described the meeting with Apple on his blog, explaining that they discussed ideas such as research and development and education.

Apple announces first iOS App Development Center coming to Europe

Apple this morning has announced its first iOS App Development Center for Europe. The facility will be located in Naples, Italy and offer a place for students to learn  who to develop iOS apps. The App Development Center will feature on-site teachers and a curriculum to facilitate a strong and diverse development community.
