First available for Android users, Facebook has just released an update to its iOS app that introduces the ability to create drafts of posts, preview posts before publishing and more.
With version 10.0, Facebook users can now create posts even when not connected to the internet or in airplane mode and save the drafts for posting later. As for previews of posts, Facebook notes that you can now “Review what your post will look like and choose whether to remove any suggested links before sharing what you’re reading, watching or listening to.”
The updated app also gets “Improvements to make News Feed load faster, especially on older phones and tablets.”
In addition to the updated Facebook iOS app, TechCrunch reports that Facebook is currently testing Google Now-like related info cards with a select group of users. The cards (pictured below) would be presented to users after posting (pictured below). Facebook described the feature:
“These cards can help you discover information about where you are or what to do next, or inspire conversations with your friends around you. This feature respects all existing privacy settings, and the card will only show you information that you could already see elsewhere on Facebook. We wanted to make it easier for you to interact with your friends about the things you’re doing and the places you are visiting.”
The updated Facebook app for iPhone and iPad is available on the App Store now.

Facebook has also, incidentally, removed the ability to select Most Recent by immediately swiping downward from the top of your news feed. You now have to go into “More” and select “Most Recent” under feeds. What nonsense.
can you post some pics? don’t know how to do it
Reblogged this on Apple Deaf News.
This some boulsh*t!! Why facebook forcing me to to do stuff… i dont want to use messenger.. they keep pushing.. i want to use “most recent”.. they delete this option at all. Facebook – you doing it wrong. Is there is any good alternative in app store for native facebook app? Becouse (in desperation) im thinking to start using web app.
The web app sucks just as much. Stuff like that is why I just deleted the Facebook app and don’t care anymore. But I used to use older versions of the app before they started pulling this bs fwiw. I don’t think there’s a third party app that’s any better though; I’ve looked previously.
They blew a promising update by removing the Most Recent timeline setting (which never persisted on iPhone but at least it was there). Now it is 3-4 taps deep in More Settings. Blah!
