In addition to releasing the second beta versions of iOS 8.4 with the all-new Music app, Apple today issued a new pre-release build of OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 for testers. The latest build comes in at 14E11f. The update is available for both developers and public beta testers.

Apple released the first preview version of OS X 10.10.4 earlier this month to registered developers and AppleSeed testers with today’s build adding public beta testers as well.

The update, measuring in at 941 MB, continues to highlight “stability, compatibility, and security” as areas of improvement.

The latest Yosemite pre-release builds follow the major OS X 10.10.3 update released earlier this month which included the all-new Photos app which replaces iPhoto, 300+ new emoji characters, and more.

There is nothing new? Just under the hood fixes?

I wonder if and when Apple will finally introduce a new filesystem that replaces the aging HFS+.
Like NTFS, HFS+ is several years old and meant for spinning mechanical HDDs. And like other filesystems, it is not reliable. Several articles can be found about the lack of checksums at the files/block level that make data corruption a likely event that cannot be corrected.
ZFS comes to mind, but any other new filesystem, would not be a bad idea. Maybe with 10.11?

The last beta broke wifi when waking up. Does this beta fix it? If not, I’m staying out of this beta.
