In a new blog post, the developers behind Pixelmator have just announced the next iteration of their software. Codenamed ‘Sandstone’, Pixelmator 3.2 will include a brand-new repair tool teased in the above video.

To celebrate the upcoming new version, Pixelmator is on sale in the Mac App Store for just $14.99 — half the normal price. Version 3.2 will be a free update, so all existing Mac App Store customers will get the update automatically.

Pixelmator was last updated in January with Mac Pro optimizations. Although the current version includes a repair tool, Pixelmator says they have completely reworked the feature for the new version using the ‘latest breakthrough technologies’.

The tool will remove objects, rips, blemishes and other imperfections in one-step: just paint over the object you want to remove.

In developing an entirely new Repair Tool, we’ve used the latest breakthrough technologies that enable you to remove dust, blemishes and entire objects from your images with an unsurpassed level of precision and quality.

We’ll have a complete look at Pixelmator 3.2 when it launches later in the year.
