If you haven’t heard of Simple, it’s definitely one of the most 2014-friendly banks out there. Known for its excellent mobile applications, the bank works just like any bank, but gives you a plethora features in both its mobile and web applications to make banking and tracking spending much easier. Today, the company is pushing version 2.0 of the app to Android and iOS users—and the latter will be especially happy because the app still hadn’t been updated to match the iOS 7 aesthetic until today.
On top of the visual refresh—and huge amounts of white—the update also now lets you send funds between those who have Simple accounts via the mobile app. Previously this feature was restricted to the desktop web client. Additionally, Goals, which is Simple’s way of helping you save and manage your money, has been completely redesigned to “feel more at home on mobile.” Overall, Simple just aimed to make the experience much more user friendly and fluid and, as someone who uses Simple daily, version 2.0 seems to do just that.
But what Simple doesn’t note in their update blog post is that the app’s icon has also gotten a refresh, doing away with the thick skeuomorphism of the past and replacing it with, well, more flat white. The update was pushed earlier this morning and should be available right now on the App Store.

Who needs an online bank when there’s Square Cash?
Simple is WAY more than Square Cash. Sure, you might not need “Simple Instant” with Square Cash (it’s not as fast as instant, but it’s not locked to only Simple customers), but you get soooo much more from Simple than you get from a simple money transfer app.
Sign up. There’s no reason not to, and you’ll immediately see why Simple is the best banking experience you’ve ever had.
Safe-To-Spend and Goals are my friends.
Can’t wait for my bank to buy them and add these features … Yay!
