Now that Apple’s new iPad Air 2 is officially up for preorder today through Apple’s online store, AT&T and others, you’re going to need a new case to accommodate the 18% thinner design. Not only will case makers have to make tweaks for the thinner design, removed side switch and other design tweaks, they will also have to make sure the home button is exposed for the new Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Below we’ve put together a list of cases that are already available to order and we’ll be updating as more cases get announced ahead of the new iPad Air 2 shipping to customers next week.

Man, none of these look good to me. Good thing I’ve got a little time before that bad boy shows up.
Same ;)
I would really like it if Apple would allow their Smart Cover to be offered in leather as well. I love the one I have on my iPad 3 right now, and am disappointed there isn’t an offering for the iPad Air 2. I don’t like the plastic ones, and I done want the Apple Smart Case.
So far, not impressed with the offerings.
My guess is because, when using it as a stand, the smart cover no longer overlaps to make the triangle. It’s a simple three segments and the edge magnets directly to the hinge-end… I think maybe the leather makes the magnetic connection too weak to create a stable stand in that configuration.
I also loved the leather case on my iPad 3, but having gotten the polyurethane one for my iPad Air, I don’t really miss the leather. Even the Poly one is pretty nice.
The leather cover case is shown being used in a stand triangle configuration. Is that what you were talking about? http://store.apple.com/us/product/MF051LL/A/ipad-air-smart-case-black?fnode=3b
Same here. Really liked the look of the black leather cover over my iPad 3. It didn’t wear down and it made it feel really premium
Having to get something, I went ahead and got the leather Apple Smart Case. Putting hands on made a difference for me, as it does actually feel pretty good and adds very little in regards to weight and thickness. Both the screen cover part and the back cover are leather with a soft suede inside. Even with my old cover, I still had a back cover to protect it. Mass transit can be murder. Even though it only has the 3 folds, it does still make a stand that is as stable as my iPad 3 Cover. This isnt meant as a review, just posting some thoughts. I stand corrected in this matter, I like the Smart Case.
I preordered the Devicewear Ridge already. I love my case for my iPad 4. http://www.devicewear.com/ridge-ipad-air-2/
I’m waiting for the ZeroChroma case. I might have to wait a while or pay a little more, but it’s worth it.
Waiting for this bad boy: http://www.devicewear.com/ridge-ipad-air-2/
Can we use the same cover for ipad air 2 as ipad air? I believe only the thickness has varied not the size.
so what is the answer. Because I have the same problem
why should i buy an ipad when i have a mac?
No love for the PowisCustom cases? High quality cases that are Made in the USA.

Neither the Belkin or the Kensington products are available to BUY right now, but coming soon. Perhaps you should research stuff before you show???
I’m a big fan of Tumi cases. They are pricey, but they are leather, built very well, and really protect the iPad if you drop it. Between my wife and I, we’ve had four Tumi cases (both for iPad and iPad minis) and we never have a problem with the magnets. Tumi has just introduced a case for the iPad Air 2, but its available in one color currently-a BRIGHT blue-and I don’t care for it. I’m hoping they’ll offer black or brown soon. I lucked up and got the iPad Air 2 from Best Buy for $100 off (vs Apple offering an iTunes card for $50) but I am going to hold off on buying a case until something better comes out. My wife started our voyage into iPads with Gen1 in 2010. Apple offered a really nice and affordable neoprene case back then, but their offerings have gone down hill in my opinion. If you don’t mind coughing up $145 for a case, you should check out Tumi.
