Skype has been updated to support the newly released OS X Yosemite and fix several issues. It is now easier to copy a link in a group chat, or leave the conversation. A few crashes related to video calls and searching have been addressed as well. You can grab the update from the Skype website.
Version 7 was recently released with a redesigned interface and other changes.

I tried many video calls today after updating to Skype 7.1, and video quality isn’t that good, it is pixelated, the sound has some issues… i wonder why is it clearer running Windows
I have installed the update, and this version will not open successfully on my iMac. When it opens, it immediately crashes.
I reinstalled it, and the crashes continue.
I get the same thing! Very frustrating and now idea how to fix. Makes me realise how much I rely on Skype.
Now Handoff support would be fabulous here – you could arrive home on a one-to-one mobile session and bring in other participants by seamlessly switching to a conference on your Mac.
Would be splendid.
They have to do a heck of a lot more work here. I find it strange how I can’t even copy/paste an image into a Skype chat. I can do this on Windows.
But did they fix the UI? Until they resolve that literal disaster, i’ll stick with 6.0.
