I can’t fathom buying another Parallels upgrade so soon after the last several, especially when there’s an excellent open source alternative. Parallels isn’t even more convenient than VirtualBox anymore and it’s far harder on my system.

CleanMyMac is crapware. I wish it would stop showing up in bundles. I have had to remove that crap from so many Macs, I’ve lost count.

I’ve used it for 12 months and not had any issues. There again I’ve only had a Mac for 12 months after 25 years of Windows and relying third party programmes to stop Windows from eating it’s self. Why don’t I need it?

      • Howie Isaacks - 10 years ago

You don’t need it because the Mac is not prone to the kind of cruft that builds up in Windows. Also, a lot of what the app does you can do manually without wasting money on buying an app to do it for you. The key is to learn about your Mac rather than let some slick software developer try to sell you something you don’t need. I do qualify my remarks. I have been working in IT for over fourteen years, mainly focusing on Apple. I’m Apple certified, and I deal with Apple desktops, laptops, and servers on a daily basis. None of the systems that I support have anything like this installed, and they all work well. In the end, you’re the biggest enemy to your Mac’s stability, just like with Windows. Learn how to use your computer properly, and there will never be a need for crapware like this.

Howie, what do you think about “App Cleaner”? I used to remove apps manually using Finder but this seems to do the same in less time. Thoughts on it?

  3. CleanMyMac should be classified as a virus. Apple should do the right thing and block their app from being able to run.

  4. As a Mac user for 25years #CleanMyMac is one of the best apps to use. A must have app for any clever mac user. I would recommend this app to anyone with a mac.
Thanx a million #macpaw for CleanMyMac.

This is a great bundle for Parallels, Camtasia, and 1Password alone. Too bad I’ve purchased them all already :(

  6. On how many Mac can i used them??

  7. Will Massenburg - 10 years ago

Pretty sure the 1Password only allows iCloud sync when it is purchased from the Mac App store. Definitely something to think about considering its the #2 biggest name on this bundle list.

I abandoned Parallels a few years ago, and first moved to VirtualBox, and then finally CrossOver. I only run Quicken for Windoze, and while it’s not 100%, it certainly works well enough and takes up far less space without requiring an actual Windows installation (not to mention all the hassle that comes with)… though the drag&drop feature did come in handy. But the overall deal is pretty good for Parallels and 1Password alone, and my experience with Acronis on the Windows side has been pretty good, so maybe their Mac version is as well.

Not really a sale if you don’t use/want that other crap they are throwing in.

CleanMyMac 2 is the greatest app I can recommend to anyone. As the IT Manager, all of our Macs have this as well as CleanMyPC for our workstations. The level of support is freaking fantastic; you can even talk to them on Twitter! The cost of this bundle is what I would pay for CMM2 everyday. Support MacPaw and make your life more amazing!

I bought this again so I can gift to family, this bundle is just insane.

To be honest, 1password in this bundle is totally crap. Why? Because this will be their web-store product, that means for those who want to use iCloud to sync. This is useless. Nobody wants to have the sync with Dropbox or Wifi, and yes 1password web-store version only provide Dropbox & Wifi sync, NO iCloud sync :)

So for those who consider buying this bundle because there are 1password :) you should reconsider. Other than that, this is quite a good deal package :)

Both CleanMyMac and Gemini from MacPaw are apps I ever need in my everyday life. One week ago, I found over 2,000 photo duplicates with Gemini. With CleanMyMac I weekly scan my fairly new MacBook and procure me free memory again and again. And also Hider saves my private documents at a secure place! Thanks to the team of MacPaw for these great apps. I look forward to further announcements from you!
