After expanding the feature to five new countries earlier this month, Apple today has again rolled out CarPlay to new countries. As noted on Apple’s iOS 8 Feature Availability page, CarPlay is now supported in Denmark, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, and Sweden. CarPlay is available in 25 countries total with today’s additions.
Earlier this month, CarPlay support came to Brazil, China, India, Thailand, and Turkey, even though the CarPlay Maps are not available in those countries. In today’s new additions, however, CarPlay does support Apple Maps.
CarPlay has slowly been gaining momentum after a scattered launch. Pioneer earlier this month released its second-gem CarPlay head units. Wireless CarPlay is also on the horizon, although at this point we’re still waiting on hardware support for this feature. You can read our full review of CarPlay on Pioneer’s first-gen NEX head unit here.

yawn!!! all of that is a fart in the wind without more CP apps. at that apps that people actually really want!
And you actually intend to drive and interact with third party apps?
Have you ever used a radio let alone car play?
I think cars due a refresh late this year / early next will gain CP so suddenly we will go from almost none to a dozen ‘overnight’ and at that point I think people will start to write apps. Also the announcement of wireless version a year after main launch i’m sure is why most manufacturers held back on this last product cycle
i hope your right. i see a lot of potential here that would relieve attention to other things in the car.
I really hope the wirleless version is common too as it would be great for short trips/commute with zero hassle. I had a quick play at Geneva motorshow with VW demo unit in a fixed display and liked it. They had three cars on the stand with it supposedly fitted but none of them would work with my 6+ despite the sales guy doing his very best. What was really interesting was that they all did not work in different ways (one had an offset screen with some icons and the other two just straight away listed part of my music or podcasts without icons and would not play anything) suggesting the head unit is more involved with the process than I imagined. Hopefully things will settle down soon as I need a new car but really want this feature!
Couple of interesting youtube vids …. A fairly comprehensive review of the Ferrari unit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pz54LcvBL_4 I have to say siri looks frustrating to use with its heavyreliance on a 3g connection. Also heres the first VW group unit I’ve seen reviewed in a Skoda (in German) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXPfxEWIjLk

I’ve been using CarPlay in Sweden for a few months. What’s the definition of support here?
Finally! Guess it’s time for a new car.
What do they mean with CarPlay availability? I Use CarPlay in my Pionner SPH-DA120 for a few months here in Portugal (apparently a not supported country) without any problems… I use maps… siri (in Brazilian Portuguese), phone calls, music app… messages… spotify… etc. Strange no?
