Natalie Kerris, a longtime senior executive within Apple’s PR and Communications group is retiring from the company, she confirmed today on Twitter. Journalist Ed Bott first indicated her retirement via Twitter. Bott says that Kerris informed him of her retirement for a LinkedIn message, and Kerris has updated her LinkedIn profile. Kerris joined Apple 14 years ago, and she led PR for Apple’s major product lines such as the iPhone. Kerris’s position within Apple’s PR group grew upon the retirement of former VP of Communications Katie Cotton.

Both Kerris and Steve Dowling were considered to take over Katie Cotton’s earlier role of VP of Communications, but Dowling was actually officially promoted to last week. A report from last year raised questions about Kerris’s future role with Apple if Dowling would become the new department lead. Last year, we published an extensive profile of Apple’s PR, Marketing, and Communications group, detailing Kerris’s position within Apple and the structure of her department.

Judging from her LinkedIn page, she probably just hit 50. Should have a closet full of ~~ BLING BLING $$ AAPL $$ CHING CHING ~~ whose dividends alone could probably keep her chill for another 40-50 years.
Depending on her lifestyle the money/stock options she made as a senior Apple executive should throw off enough return to make her and her children wealthy.
Well, she has a husband and I’m sure he also makes money.
Well, duh.
