New helicopter flyover gives up-close look at Apple Campus 2 construction progress

AppleHQ-HD from E3VFX on Vimeo.

Apple’s under construction Campus 2 in Cupertino is making good progress despite recently switching up contractors working on the project, and today we get our latest look at the site courtesy of a new video from Skycore.

We’ve seen a lot of drone shots of the site in recent weeks, but this latest footage was shot using a 5k Red Epic Dragon using the company’s Skycore Camera Ship helicopter and a 1800mm lens.

The last video we shared came from our friend MyithZ who also managed to get real close to the site to give us a look at the its new $160 million auditorium that will hold around 1,000 people and likely become the site of future Apple product unveilings and press events.

We’ve been tracking progress of the project in our Campus 2 construction timeline, adding monthly and sometimes weekly updates of drone flyovers, official aerial shots shared by Apple and the City of Cupertino, and news surrounding the project.

Apple is expected to start moving in employees by the end of 2016 when it wraps up work on the 176-acre site.

Did Taylor Switft OK this flyover?

Swift Inc takes criticism of its business plans seriously and doesn’t welcome your feedback unless money is attached.

Why post the flyovers if you don’t post the stories of Applw firing 2 contractor groups and the spaceship is $2 billion over budget and now might be completed in 2017?

Not sure why but this video is of very poor quality compared with the drone/GoPro videos I’ve seen. Did something happen in the upload?

If you mean the lankiness I think it’s shot at a lower frame rate or might be 30 played at 24 fps. Either way, the shutter speed was way too fast. It does get a shot that no multirotor can get currently though.

Are the contractors working on a 3 month trial period?

Seeing those cranes/trucks driving over that bridge was the first time I could appreciate the scale of the building. It’s epic!
