iTunes Connect is down for many. Attempting to connect here, it is giving a Gateway Timeout error. It’s only a little more than a week after many developers experienced a multi-day outage.
Apple’s system status page is not showing any issues at the time of writing, but commonly remains all-green for extended periods after outages are first experienced …
iTunes Connect is the system used by developers and publishers to upload and manage apps and iBooks. Similarly, Apple’s Knowledge Base support articles are offering a timeout error of their own currently. We’ll update when the situation changes.

It just works! (TM)
Those who defend Apple on the cloud. Do y’all still do that? Cause this is evidence # 1,254 that Apple absolutely sucks at the cloud and is their biggest weakness. Not sure WHAT Apple can do about this, but this is a HUGE problem for them.
And before anyone brings up Steve: they have NEVER gotten the cloud right. Even under Steve.
I find it particularly interesting that when Microsoft turned monolithic and were slaves to the ‘release every year on time’ mantra that they sucked at any cloud functionality: now that Apple are going down the same path, they too are sucking in the same ways.
The difference is that Microsoft actually learned from their mistakes on the cloud (see 2013 when they had their major fiasco). Ever since then, they’ve done a far better job. Their google drive/dropbox competitor, SkyDrive, has had just as good uptime as Drive/Dropbox has had.
Apple? Seems like every single week at least one of their cloud services go down.
If Xbox Live had as much down time that iCloud has had, there would have been a gamer uprising by now.
Apple absolutely needs to fix this problem. Folks are depending on cloud services more now (and will continue to want more in the future) than ever (for good and bad, but it ain’t going away). Apple HAS to improve on this or will be left behind.
Do most people know what iTunes Connect is? That it has nothing to do with iTunes and that it is a developer tool? Just thinking that the headline is unnecessarily vague (sensational, if you will), making people think by “again” you mean how Apple Music was down last week. Just a thought…
I don’t think many 9to5Mac readers are likely to confuse iTunes Connect with Apple Music. The piece explains what it is for anyone who doesn’t know.
Fair enough, but you need to click the “Read more” link to find out what it is.
Oh I know what iTunes Connect is. Still goes to show how bad Apple is with the Cloud.
Again, how many times have Apple cloud services of one kind or another gone down this year alone?
By again, they mean again for iTunes Connect. It went down for 15+ hours 12 days ago on Friday. It’s an essential tool for a lot of development/QA teams and having it frequently go out with little to no information is unacceptable.
Sometimes i stop and say: “What happens to Apple?” This is one of that moments. We see problem with Apple services almost every week and it’s not reliable. Is there anything worse than Beats 1’s down when announcing mtv nominees?
Btw, for the record i’m not confusing Apple Music with iTunes Connect, i was just giving an example
I think the System Status page is merely a marketing tool.
It actually got updated today…I was in shock. They must have finally hired someone to update it, remembered that it existed, something…I honestly thought it was a static image for a long time.
The system status page is just a tool, that needs to be feeded with data. If the status monitoring service does not work, all ‘remains’ green.
I would like to submit my app today. I’m waiting since morning and our business owners are asking me, when shall I submit the app for review.
For iOS developers, it’s a pretty big deal. I have work that needs to be done right now & I can’t do it because this critical Apple service is down, like it is frequently. What the hell is the problem Apple? Is it Web Objects? Bad enough that we are forced to use the Safari browser to access any Apple Developer website, but iTunesConnect is _always_ screwed up to some degree or another.
This is happening too often…
Nothing to complain here… it is just working!
