With no users reporting crippling issues on the developer version released yesterday, Apple has pushed out a second public beta of iOS 9.1 to users running the pre-release OS. The software update includes the new emojis from the first beta, and a new setting introduced in this build that allows users to disable contact photos in Messages.
Yesterday Apple pushed out several other developer betas besides iOS 9.1, including tvOS and a new version of Xcode with support for pairing new Apple TV remotes with a Mac to test in the simulator. Earlier this week a public beta of OS X was seeded as well.

Look forward to trying it. Safari crashes often and has ran painfully slow on my iPhone 6 ever since I tried out the 9.0 and 9.1 betas. I never had that issue in 8.0 on my iPhone 6. Thanks for posting this article Mike.
does anyone know if the beta testers of iOS 9 will always stay in beta? if so, how do i switch out of the beta to regular 9.0 or 9.1?
Just delete Apple beta software profile
Restart device!
thanks.. should i wait to delete the profile since apple hasn’t released 9.1 yet? my device will downgrade itself to 9.0.1? I am on 9.1 currently.
Your device will not downgrade to 9.0.1. I advise just staying on the 9.1 beta until 9.1 comes out, then removing the profile. If you downgrade you won’t be able to use your device backup so you’ll lose whatever is saved on your phone.
How do I delete the Apple beta software profile?
Just delete the profile and it will update to the final iOS 9.1 version when it comes out… probably best to keep the profile until then though
Really happy with the first 9.1 beta on my 5s, best of the 9’s so far. I don’t want to jinx it.
Same here – I have a bunch of devices on 9.1 B2 without issues (5s, 6, Ipad mini 2 and Ipad Air 2)
Beta 2 is even better than beta 1 for me. And beta 1 was streets ahead of every 9.0 build.
Can anyone tell me if there have been any improvements to the Podcasts app? (which hasn’t had a great reception due to loss of playlists, ability to reorder, font sizes etc.)
Podcast app never worked for me after 9.0 and still no work with 9.01. Both 6+ and iPad mini 2
It’s been working fine for me (or at least as good as it ever has) since at least the late iOS 9 betas. It actually auto downloads paid podcasts away from my home network now ( just iTunes wifi sync), which was a major complaint I had before.
The other bug I’ve found (since upgrading to 9.0.1 yesterday) is Healthkit is no longer receiving data (pedometer, flights climbed etc.) Have rebooted, and turned Fitness Tracking on and off in the Motion and Fitness settings, and turned the Health app setting there on/off too, without success. Anyone else seeing this?
A little bit off topic, but is anyone experiencing problems with the heart rate glance in the watch since OS2? Mine just keeps telling me to retry everytine I use the glance.
Is WiFi calling back? Its an ultra rarely used feature for me but would of been useful on my 6 hour flight tuesday so i could text.
It never got removed.
iCloud backup is now fix.
Removing the profile will only remove the feedback assistant it won’t stop you from receiving the betas I thought.
