The revamped Apple TV set top box and iPad Pro will both begin showing up in Apple Retail Stores for sale during the first week of November after going on sale via Apple’s website in late October, according to reliable sources. It is also likely that the first online orders of both products will reach customers in early November.
Apple has previously said that the new Apple TV will go on sale at some point in October, and that the iPad Pro would go on sale in November. However, the company did not say that the first Apple TV units will arrive in early November, or that the iPad Pro would actually go on sale online in late October. We reported earlier this week that the iPad Pro will show up in stores in early November, narrowing the tablet’s availability window.
Apple is also preparing to launch a new 4K 21.5-inch iMac as soon as next Tuesday, potentially alongside upgraded “Magic Keyboard,” “Magic Mouse 2,” and “Magic Trackpad 2” accessories with the company’s latest input technologies. Apple has also been working on faster versions of the 5K 27-inch iMac line and new laptops with the latest Intel chips, but it is currently unclear if those are ready for debut next week as well.

Will there be a Keynote in October?
no, it was confirmed by Tim there would be no more keynotes or events in 2015
Question to any devs who have the new Apple TV: Has the Netflix App been upgraded to the same interface as iOS (and PS3/4, Roku, etc), or is it the same as the current Apple TV? Thanks!
@dan as far as I know there’s no Apps on it yet (nor is there an App Store).
OK, understood. Last night I was thinking about how much the current Netflix interface on ATV sucks compared to iOS, and hoping the new hardware would allow an updated app. Thanks for the reply!
I have a dev unit and only icons on the unit is Movies (iTunes), TV Shows (iTunes), Photos, Music, Computers, Settings..Search, TestFlight so currently no Netflix no HBO Now or anything you would find on any of the older Apple TVs
If you look at any of the apps from the demo or on the tvOS manual, it’s a pretty good guess they will use the built in templates to design their app so it will look uniform to other apps, but customized with Netflix’s branding. It would be a lot more work for them and would probably get rejected if they designed it with a completely customized template mimicking the UI of the 2nd and 3rd gen Apple TVs.
Here’s a link to the developers guide – https://developer.apple.com/tvos/human-interface-guidelines/
It gives you a pretty good idea of how app interfaces will look. Netflix on the new Apple TV wont have iOS, PS4, or Roku UIs, it will be a UI designed with tvOS templates and Netflix branding/colors.
Hopefully the new units only ship with the Apple Apps, and all other Apps are downloadable from the App Store. We don’t still need a hundred built in Apps with an App Store.
It will also be nice that devs can update Apps at their own pace.
I’ll be ordering the new Apple TV as soon as it is available. I’ve been waiting for an app store since the first Apple TV was released. My two ATV 2s are now 5 years old – I’m ready to upgrade!
I sold mine on ebay and got $140 for each of them. The 2nd gen ones were the last that were jailbreakable so they’re worth more. I’d do it quick though before this one comes out and people find a way to jailbreak it.
And don’t count on Apple adopting 4K or any new/expensive tech on a baselevel device until it’s mainstream.
I really think I might have to wait for the 4K version to come out. I was so excited for it, but I don’t know. Ugh I hate to have to wait for 4K a whole ‘nother year.
4K most likely won’t hit Apple TV for 2 more years.
They could be working on building their own video compression format maybe? I mean they have Apple Lossless and stuff for their music store. If they can make something better than H.265 (which I guess they’ve removed from all documentation), why not do it? Now is the time to do it, make it available to all video content providers on the iTunes Store, so all SD, HD, and eventually UHD content can be remastered for iTunes, and both looks better, and uses less space. Moreover, it could be what they’ll use to compress and send their TV service with, possibly making it far superior quality than any current TV cable subscription, and use much less bandwidth to be streamed to users which desperately need less data usage after internet providers have started to implement data caps.
While I can understand being disappointed that a 4K Apple TV isn’t shipping I don’t think that’s the future killer feature. HDR is probably the killer feature, it will be interesting to compare 4K content to 1080 HDR.
They already havea codec for videos: .m4v
I wish Apple would hold off on releasing products until they had a steady flow of units. The last 2-3 iMac releases and the Apple Watch are prime example of poor or to slow of rollout of products.
What brand shirt is he wearing? I really want it.
Still wondering if or when XCode for the iPad Pro will be announced? It is the one killer feature that Apple has not said a peep about yet. June is a long time to wait.
Get the Beta Xcode, it’s in there
Can anyone confirm if these will be the first instances that iOS 9.1 will begin to appear and/or be available on devices?
