With the latest update to iMovie, support for 4K editing lets you make and share movies that are sharper and more beautiful than ever. iMovie also supports 1080p HD video at 60 frames per second for smoother, more true-to-life action. And now you can begin editing on your iPhone or iPad, then finish editing on your Mac to take advantage of powerful features including color correction, green-screen effects, and animated maps …
Apple updated the iOS version of iMovie with 4K support shortly before the release of the iPhone 6s. The latest Mac version also allows you to import movies from the iOS app to continue editing them on your Mac. Minor additional improvements include 10 additional filters borrowed from the iOS app.
This means that all Apple’s video editing apps – iMovie on iOS and OS X, and Final Cut Pro on the Mac – now allow you to create ultra-HD masterpieces.
The updated app should be rolling out across the course of the day.
