Sony told us back in November that it would be offering Remote Play on both Mac and PC, allowing PlayStation 4 owners to stream games to their Macs, but it didn’t give any clue as to when this would be available. It still hasn’t given a definite date, but today confirmed that it will be coming in the next major update, v3.50.
The 3.50 beta rolls out today, but there’s one feature missing from it – no prizes for guessing which.
Our beta program for PlayStation 4’s next major system software update, version 3.50 (codenamed MUSASHI), kicks off tomorrow. If you signed up for the beta and were selected, keep an eye on your email for instructions on downloading […]
We’re bringing PS4 Remote Play to Windows PC and Mac. This feature won’t be available to test in the beta, but you can look forward to it soon.
If that sounds like just the excuse you need to invest in a PS4, you can find a range of deals in Sony’s Amazon store.

OK…why? If you have a PS4, presumably you have it connected to a big screen. Why do you need to add the complexity and overhead of streaming it to another computer? Maybe I’m missing something but this is like having an app on an Apple TV to watch TV shows I have on a cable box.
Likely to be most useful if you want to play games when the big screen is already in use by other family members.
My wife likes to play certain games for long periods on the xbox, this means I could play something else on the mac while she is playing her games.
Because lots of games today only allow multiplayer via network and a second console you would only need to buy a second PS4 and no second TV is littering your living room! I can’t believe what I’m saying, man this society has gotten so commercial -.-
I use it all the time. (1) When my husband is watching something else and I want to play. (2) When I travel for work, which is every week.
With Remote play you can play outside your house via the Internet, Just leave PS4 in stand by at home and play at you work :)

What good is this news if I can’t use remote play on my iPad or iPhone?I have a Sony PlayStation account!
