Vimeo is out with a new version of its iOS app today that adds support for iOS 9 features, improves content discovery, makes video sharing faster, and more. iPad users will be happy to learn that Vimeo now supports iOS 9’s picture-in-picture feature for video playback when using other apps. The video service has also tuned up video discovery features and recommendations in the latest version of their iOS app.

Vimeo says discovery is being made easier thanks to 16 human-curated categories including “Music, Animation, Travel, Documentary and more.” The service also says that navigation has been cleaned up to offer a better experience for users.
In addition to PIP support on iOS 9, Vimeo has also added Spotlight integration, which lets you search content within the Vimeo app and service from the native iOS search window. This lets you find content in Vimeo without first having to open the app.
Finally, Vimeo’s video player and upload process have both been improved in the latest version which should improve the general user experiencer all around.
