This week’s top stories: iOS 10 & macOS Sierra public betas, Pokémon Go, iPhone 7 leaks & more

In this week’s top stories: Apple launches public betas for upcoming releases of iOS 10 & macOS Sierra, Pokemon Go tops the app charts, the latest iPhone 7 leaks, and much more. Head below for these and the rest of this week’s top stories:

iOS 10 |

We start off with iOS 10 news as Apple releases iOS beta 2 to developers this week alongside the second beta release for watchOS 3 beta 2 and macOS Sierra.

It also launched the first public beta release of iOS 10, which lines up version-wise with the beta 2 released to developers this week. We gave you the rundown on how to install it on your device, as well as what to keep in mind if considering a downgrade. Finally, we noted this week that Apple is now promoting organ donation with iOS 10, allowing users to sign up as a donor from within the Health app.

Apps |

One of our top shared stories this week overall was the release of Pokemon GO for iOS devices. After an initial soft launch in other countries earlier in the year, the app started launching worldwide this week, including the US, and it quickly shot to the top of the App Store charts.

iPhone |

We move onto the latest iPhone news and iPhone 7 leaks with an alleged spy spot of iPhone 7 showing a redesigned antenna & camera, more reports that Apple plans to ditch the base 16GB iPhone model for 32GB on the low-end, and the launch of Verizon’s new higher priced plans with more data, rollover data, and its new “Safety Mode” unlimited usage feature.

We also discussed how the iPhone 7 launch might affect lineup pricing in general. Can iPhone SE go even cheaper?

Mac |

Next is Mac news– including the release of macOS 10.12 Sierra beta 2 for developers— and we finish off with this week’s top videos with Jeff’s walkthrough of 50 new iOS 10 beta 2 features and more.
