Apple has released macOS 10.12.2 beta 4 for Mac. The new update follows the initial macOS 10.12.2 beta at the end of October and multiple additional builds since. Today’s build comes in at version 16C53a, up from 16C48b, and is available from the Mac App Store.

macOS 10.12.2 includes Unicode 9.0 emoji support, which matches compatibility in beta versions of iOS 10.2 and watchOS 3.1.1.

macOS 10.12.2 will be released to everyone in the future (likely December), and the beta allows developers to test pre-release versions of the software update before it’s released.

macOS 10.12.2 follows the major release of macOS Sierra in September. Sierra includes new features like Siri on the Mac for the first time, Apple Pay on the web, picture-in-picture video playback, and much more.

We’ll update if any new changes are discovered in macOS 10.12.2.
